The media have reported this week that North Korean successfully launched an Intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), that could potentially reach the United States.
This news has come as a great shock to many and has many people fearing that the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, could at any moment, unleash devastation with his new arsenal of ICBM’s.
The United States and the United Nations would like people to think that this is a new advancement for North Korea and a new threat to the West, however, in 2006 the Korean Times reported that a North Korean missile piece had been found in Alaska.
In 2003, the Korean Times revealed that South Korea had conducted an investigation into North Koreas missile capabilities, including discussions with the United States, China, Japan, Russian and the European Union. During their investigation, they discovered documentation from Washington indicating a long-range missile was found in Alaska.
This means that North Korea actually don’t pose a significant or new threat to the United States. While the mainstream media report on the recent missile launch and would have you believe that the threat from North Korea is at a new and significant level, this is clearly not the case. If the earlier news reports and articles are to be believed then this just goes to show that North Korea’s technology has not improved much in over 20 years.
Since Donald Trump’s inauguration, tensions have been increasing between the United States and North Korea. Earlier this year President Trump ordered naval ships to the coast of North Korea. Since then Japanese ships have been sent to backup and support the US Navy fleet.
This act does pose the question, what is the United States preparing for? The mainstream media is clearly portraying a misleading story that North Korea is suddenly much more dangerous and is much more of a risk to the West, with their “new” missile power.
What the United States needs to keep in mind is that overthrowing Kim Jong Un is no simple task. To achieve such a goal would mean boots on the ground and thousands of innocent civilian deaths. Civilians that had no choice in being caught up in this whole mess.
What the people need to remember is that it’s easy to believe the propaganda and biased, one-sided view, that the mainstream media portray. The reality is there’s no evidence that North Korea poses a new threat to the West. In fact, Moscow has provided evidence to the United Nations, that the missile launch was actually a mid-range missile and not an ICBM as reported by the United States, Japan and the mainstream media.
